There will be a short educational movie shown starting at 12:30 pm. Cultural Safari is a 17-minute video aimed at educating America’s schoolchildren, teachers and school administrators about what it means to be a Sikh American.
Dr. I.J. Singh is a frequent speaker on interfaith issues. He is a professor at New York University and a writer of several books on Sikhism from a western perspective and a scholar of Sikhism. His talk starts at 12:55 pm.
Dr. Singh has authored a collection of essays, Sikhs and Sikhism: A View with a Bias, The Sikh Way: A Pilgrim’s Progess, and his newest collection, Being and Becoming a Sikh. Come listen to Dr. Singh discuss the Guru Granth Sahib’s present role in society.


My wife and I have enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Sikh community for two festivals. My wife was born in India and feels a kinship with the Yuba City community who have given back so much.
